In a few weeks the Disney Channel will begin running Tangled: The Series, a sequel serial to the 2010 feature film and a prequel to the short that followed it. In this series Rapunzel and Flynn aren’t married yet, perhaps because they’re dealing with some new problems…
One of the most obvious will be made clear in the premise for Tangled: Before Ever After, the TV movie that launches the series. Rapunzel is famous for her extremely long hair — hair she lost at the end of the movie. Now, for whatever reason, it’s back. And this time, she can’t even cut it — it’s become indestructible!
Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are back as Rapunzel and Flynn, and we hear they even got Alan Menken to write a few new songs. The show also employs a pretty unique animation style. It’s not the traditional one-frame-at-a-time, but it looks like it took more effort than Flash. Especially whenever they have to animate all that hair.
There still isn’t an exact date for the premiere of Tangled: The Series, but since they say for certain Before Ever After will run in March, we would bet on the show starting soon after.
