Earlier this year Disney announced their 2010 animated feature Tangled would be turned into a TV series. It won’t premiere until next year, but the first trailer was released today….it’s just 15 seconds, but we get all we need to know. Most of it anyway.
Zachary Levi (the Chuck in “Chuck”) and Mandy Moore (the homeless fairy girl from Clone High) will be reprising their movie roles as Flynn Rider and Rapunzel respectively. The series will take place in between the movie and the short “Tangled Ever After,” with Rap and Flynn engaged and having adventures around the world — and guess what’s inexplicably back? The hair.
Disney isn’t telling anyone why Rapunzel’s hair is super-long again, but it looks like it will be addressed in the pilot. The art looks fantastic, using a storybook-style texture without resorting to too many Flash-like shortcuts.
Tangled: The Series will premiere during an unspecified month of 2017. Until then, you’ve got Milo Murphy to keep you contented.
